Owl - Lüba

A horned owl sits facing forward on a mottled ground of pale grey, blue and ochre, its yellow eye wide open and its ear tufts flicked up. The feathers are built from torn, layered strokes in white, brown and blue, with small flashes of red low on the breast and in the corners. Thin runs of paint trail down the ground, and loose feather shapes float free along the edges.

Acrylic on canvas, worked in layers with torn edges, dripped paint and dry strokes over a mottled ground. Created by Lüba, who paints original works on canvas and lets each piece develop intuitively, without a set story. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
