the child with the kite - GAHO

A small pale figure stands in the shallows with the surf breaking around it, and a brown kite lifts away into the upper right of the sky. The sea runs deep blue to the horizon, the sky above it washed turquoise and yellow, and a trail of ochre and red spreads across the foreground water where the light falls.

Painted in thick impasto, the paint ridged by the knife so the weave of the canvas shows through. GAHO is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels who has painted landscapes and everyday scenes for many years, in intense colour and strong contrasts of light and shadow. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
